Works are set to resume on a former school building in Newmarket to turn the current office space into residential flats.
Initially, planning permission was sought in 2007 to change the use of Old St. Mary's School on Fitzroy Street from offices to five self-contained flats.
This included internal alterations, the insertion of new doors and windows with landscaping.
The plans were approved by West Suffolk Council as the local planning authority but, since then, the design has been re-assessed and new amendments have been proposed.
JIA Architects has submitted a new roof plan and proposed elevations in order to make the "alterations to the external fabric more sympathetic to the original building".
If approved, this will include the omission of the roof light and window from the original design, with the addition of the removal of the 1980's canopy and new roof lights that are not visible from the ground.
