A Suffolk man has revealed his 22,000 strong-light display synched to music passersby can choose.

The process began 10 months ago for Daniel Scott, of Scotty Lights, who is bringing the spectacle back to Stowmarket for the fifth year.

The computerised smart Christmas light display consists of over 22,077 red, green and blue LEDs, synchronised to 14 different songs.

The songs include Ed Sheeran and Elton John's Merry Christmas, Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone, The Weeknd's Blinding Lights, It's Raining Tacos and Baby Shark.

Warning: Strobe lighting.

Daniel Scott, the man behind Scotty Light's said: "Light have always been a weird hobby of mine.

"Everyone is very positive about the lights which is great."

The lights can be controlled by anyone who wants to see them, by choosing through the app, and adding the song to the queue.

Mr Scott said: "People would often say can we see that again, and I am a software engineer by trade, so I thought let's make an app that does that.

"We have some fun songs like Baby Shark and Beep Beep, I'm a Sheep, and then other songs which look good with the light display."

The work started on the lights back in February with the planning and programming, with construction and testing happening in late September.

Mr Scott said it also takes six full days for himself and his friend Paul to put them on his dad's house, in Bury Road, and complete the wiring and testing.

It also takes two hours to programme just 30 seconds of each song.

The lights are once again raising money for East Anglian Air Ambulance, which was Mr Scott's late mother's favourite charity.

In the last two years, Scotty Light's has raised over £1,320 for the air ambulance, and last year won the Ipswich Star's best Christmas light display, which raised an additional £500.

Mr Scott continued: "It has become a bit of a family tradition and we do not mind people stopping by."

The lights are situated in Bury Road in Stowmarket, opposite the football club and with all the lights, it is hard to miss it.

The displays run from 4pm-8pm Monday to Thursday, 4pm-10pm Friday and Saturday, and 4pm-9pm on Sunday.
