A former Santander bank will become an adult gaming centre under new plans set for approval this week.
If permission is granted, the site will become a new adult gaming centre with slot machines, bingo machines and tablets, joining Paddy Power and Betfred already on Newmarket's high street.
The premises has remained empty for two years and currently has planning permission as a hot food takeaway.
The plans detail that the machines will offer low stakes of between 10p and £2 and that no alcohol will be served on the premises.
The proposed opening hours have been negotiated throughout the course of the application from 24/7 to the following: between 8am and 11pm from Monday to Thursday, from 8am to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays and 8am to 11pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The site was purchased by John Remblance, owner of Remco Leisure Limited, who operates a further 10 arcades in Suffolk and Essex.
The plans have been recommended for approval and are set to appear before the West Suffolk Council Development Control Committee on Wednesday, December 7.
