A flood alert has been issued for part of the Suffolk coast.

Just before 9am today, the Environment Agency announced an alert, which is set to affect Southwold and the surrounding area.

It was issued as a result of rising river or tidal levels.

Residents of the town and visitors are being advised to monitor local water levels and weather conditions when heading out.
