An illuminated light trail is to return to a Suffolk manor house and gardens - with an Alice in Wonderland theme.

Haughley Park's Spectacle of Light is to kick off next month to raise funds for Suffolk charity St Elizabeth Hospice.

Visitors will be able to follow the White Rabbit around the gardens and step into a fantasy world to meet the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the Cheshire Cat.

Visitors can make a donation to St Elizabeth Hospice in return for a ribbon to tie on the event's 'Wishing Tree'.

Robert Williams, of Haughley Park, said: “We are very proud to be partnering with St Elizabeth Hospice for our Spectacle of Light and to be raising money for the charity through the event’s wonderful Wishing Tree.

“Visitors can make a donation in return for a ribbon to tie on one of the branches. This can be to make a wish or simply remember a loved one.

"After all the pandemic restrictions, it is lovely to be able to bring back this feature and make the event bigger and better than ever for 2023.”

Liz Baldwin, corporate and sponsorship fundraising manager at the charity, added that they are "delighted" to be chosen to be supported by the event, which will make a "big difference".
