Courts in Suffolk were busy again last month - here are some of those sentenced to jail terms.
Edward Harrison
The 37-year-old was jailed for six years and nine months after he had conversations about sex with a young girl.
Sentencing Edward Harrison, Judge Emma Peters said the offences had happened over the course of a night after he had been drinking.
Harrison, of Ashfield Road, Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Ipswich Crown Court to an offence of sexual communication with the girl for the purpose of sexual gratification.
In addition to messages to the girl, Harrison had sent her “naughty schoolgirl“ videos to watch.
He also admitted causing or inciting the same girl to engage in sexual activity and causing or inciting her to watch a sexual act.
Harrison further admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice on July 31 last year by deleting the WhatsApp app from the victim’s mobile phone.
Natasha Nair, for Harrison, said her client had shown remorse and had been a model prisoner while he’d been in custody.
Harry Tillett
The 61-year-old Haverhill drug dealer was jailed for 45 months at Ipswich Crown Court.
Tillett, of Tudor Close, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine between March 12, 2022, and December 15, 2022.
Police conducted a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at a property in Anglian Place, Haverhill, on Wednesday, December 14 last year.
A quantity of suspected class A drugs was located at the address, as were three mobile phones and nearly £300 in cash.
Tillett was arrested and subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.
Ebrima Macauley
The 28-year-old drug dealer who ran a county line that supplied crack cocaine and heroin into Ipswich has been jailed.
Macauley, of Frederick Street in Camden, London, appeared before Lewes Crown Court in East Sussex for sentencing on Friday, January 20.
Macauley had previously admitted multiple drugs supply and possession offences, having been arrested in London in July last year.
He was identified as being responsible for the running of a county line supplying class A drugs between February last year and the following July.
It is estimated he was involved in the supply of more than 1kg of both heroin and crack cocaine into the Ipswich area.
As well as supplying drugs into Suffolk, Macauley also operated in the Sussex area.
He was jailed for eight years.
Lloyd Agyekum, Quin Byrne and Jason Mohammed
A trio of drug dealers that pedalled £140,000 worth of heroin and cocaine in Ipswich have been jailed for more than 12 years.
Agyekum, Byrne and Mohammed were arrested after police raids at premises in Burrell Road, St George’s Street and Pelican Close in Ipswich in 2021, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Charles Myatt, prosecuting said police officers who raided a flat in Gipping Court, in Burrell Road, Ipswich in April 2021 found 81 wraps of heroin and 142 wraps of crack cocaine with a street value of more than £2,000.
Byrne was arrested at the premises and following his arrest Agyekum, who was described as “coordinating and controlling” the “Jerome” drug line, had tried to contact Byrne and the Jerome line had then gone quiet.
A number of knives and a crossbow were found at the flat which Mr Myatt said were consistent with people dealing drugs having a means of protecting themselves.
Agyekum was arrested in Croydon and had £1,000 in his possession.
Agyekum, 27, of Turpin Way, London, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and was jailed for six years.
Byrne, 25, of no fixed address, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and was jailed for four and a half years.
Mohammed, 46, of Marine Parade East, Clacton-on-Sea, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin and was jailed for two years.
