A hunt is under way to find a new landlord for a Suffolk pub that was known for its carveries after it closed last month.

The Bunbury Arms, on the A143 at Great Barton, near Bury St Edmunds, was shut by its former tenant early in January, with owner Greene King confirming a search has been launched for someone new to take charge of the property.

News of the pub's closure was greeted with much sadness, known locally for its great carvery offer which Greene King claims is the pub's primary trade.

A spokesman for Greene King said “We can confirm The Bunbury Arms has been closed by our tenant and we are looking for a new partner to operate this pub with us.

"The pub is well known within the area and popular for its great food and drink offering. Anyone interested should get in touch to find out more.”

The annual rent for the property is £40,000 and has a forecasted operator turnover of £521,239.
