A popular broadcaster and author returned to his hometown this week to unveil new library facilities.
Staff and pupils at The Ashley School Academy Trust - a specialist SEN school in Lowestoft - were celebrating as they welcomed a high-profile radio presenter.
Lowestoft-born Zeb Soanes - the host of Smooth Classics at Seven on the UK’s most popular classical music station, Classic FM - was the special guest.
After almost two years of behind the scenes work, the school on Ashley Downs marked a major revamp of its library with a grand reopening event.
A school spokesman said: "Staff and pupils gathered for storytelling, book signing and an official ribbon cutting event on Monday, January 30 to declare the space open.
"After almost two years of planning and preparation behind the scenes, we are delighted that we can now offer a fresh, modern space packed with book stock that is well matched to our pupils’ interests."
In the "fully revamped library" Mr Soanes shared his "endearing Gaspard the Fox stories" with pupils who were then able to purchase signed copies as a keepsake from the day.
The school thanked Mr Soanes - "for taking the time to join us in celebration" - and the Foyle Foundation for a grant "that made this all possible" and the "extensive support and dedication" from the Norfolk Children's Book Centre.
This has allowed the library to be refitted with a fresh, modern feel and almost £5,000 of new book stock that was hand picked to match pupil interests.
The school spokesman said: "Pupils were also able to visit the Lowestoft branch of Waterstones to select their own choices of book to add to the library."
Camilla George, the school's English leader, said: "We were thrilled to be able to invite all those who supported us with the project to the grand reopening today.
"It was a pleasure to listen to Zeb read his stories and pupils have really enjoyed the event. Now our library is ready to encourage the next generation of pupils to continue their love of reading during their time with us, and beyond."
