A man has been charged with GBH following a stabbing in seaside town Walton-on-the-Naze.
Police were called to High Street at 6.45pm last Wednesday to reports of an incident during which a man was hit by a car and stabbed.
A police cordon was put in place and the man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
He is now, Monday morning, in a stable condition.
A man was arrested nearby and questioned on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Murat Sanci, 21 and of Oldbury Road in Enfield, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.
He appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday and was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 3.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is being asked to contact Essex Police quoting the reference number 1052 of February 1.
