Two Suffolk brothers have launched what they believe is a world-first spirit made at their distillery in a village in the county.
Rob Tapster and his brother Will, who run Alkemy Distillery in Bradfield St George near Bury St Edmunds, have produced the UK's first aged sugar beet spirit.
It is made in the same way as rum but using sugar beet molasses instead of sugar cane molasses.
Rob said the spirit was now available in various shops in Bury St Edmunds and on their website.
He added: "The spirit is inspired by the area we grew up in.
"We are from Bury and we'd always spoken about making drinks from sugar beet.
"It was a bit of the stars aligning for us and it has created something special.
"It's not syrupy, it's not sickly, it's not sweet – it tastes very new, but also very familiar."
The spirit is available at www.alkemydistillery.co.uk
