A Suffolk man accused of possessing a firearm with intent to cause police officers to fear that violence would be used against them and an offence of assault has been given a community order.

Before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday was Timothy Richardson of Heath Road, Sutton Heath.

The 39-year-old admitted offences of assault causing actual harm and possessing an air rifle with intent to cause police officers to fear violence would be used against them at an earlier hearing.

Richardson was given a three year community order, a 40 day rehabilitation activity requirement and a 12 month mental health treatment requirement.

He was also fined £50 for breaching a suspended sentence order and banned from contacting the victim of the assault and from going within a mile of Holistic Woods in Sutton Heath for three years.

Steven Dyble, for Richardson, who has been in custody, said his client had the offer of accommodation in Halesworth on his release from prison.
