A former care home near Sudbury could be converted into a hotel if new plans are approved.
Brookwood Manor Care Home, in Little Waldingfield, closed down in 2021 after a damning report by Care Quality Commission at the end of June saw it given the lowest-possible rating of ‘inadequate’ overall.
A design and access statement submited by Cowper Griffith Architects to Babergh District Council said: "The Hall was once a hotel in the distant past. Therefore the change of use can be made with relative ease.
"The Hall is mostly in good condition with only limited repair work and modification necessary for the new use."
If the application is approved the former care home will be transformed into a 21-room hotel with a restaurant built at the back of the hotel.
