Suffolk is starring in tonight's episode of Sir David Attenborough's latest programme, Wild Isles.

The BBC programme sees the much-loved naturalist and broadcaster shine a light on the challenges affecting the British Isles and celebrates nature that exists on our doorsteps.

In this week's episode of the five-part series, viewers will take a closer look at grassland and its inhabitants.

It is not yet clear what parts of Suffolk will feature on the episode but Screen Suffolk has revealed that film crews were present at Lackford Lakes and Wangford Warren.

Sir David will introduce the episode from a hay meadow in Dorset and will appear in a chalk stream in Wiltshire and a green bridge on the Pembrokeshire Coast

Boxing hares in Suffolk will be featured alongside mating adders in Northumberland and wild horses in Cambridgeshire.

The county has previously featured, showcasing autumn forest and fungi. 

The series was filmed in 145 locations and captured 96 species which took 1,631 days to film.

The grasslands episode of Wild Isles will air on BBC One and iPlayer today, March 26, at 7pm.
