Hundreds of homes in Newmarket are without water due to a burst main.

Anglian Water has said homes and businesses in the north west of the town are suffering from low pressure or have no water at all.

The issue is also affecting homes in Exning, as well as over the Cambridgeshire border in Burwell.

A statement on the Anglian Water website said: "We've identified a burst water main in your area that we're working hard to get fixed, so that we can get your supply back to normal as soon as possible."

Engineers are currently working on the issue.

It is estimated that supply will be restored by 9pm this evening.

Pictures from the scene in George Lambton Avenue show the road flooded.

Water can be seen gushing from the pavement, with the road completely underwater.

Anglian Water has been approached for more information.
