A set of roadworks in a town centre has been extended for an extra week.

Great Eastern Road in Sudbury was originally closed until Friday, April 21 due to urgent drainage work being carried out.

However, in an update posted on Twitter, Suffolk Highways confirmed that the work had been extended until April 28.

Broken pipes, gullies and ironworks are among repairs being carried out while the road remains closed.

Drivers should still be aware of added delays when travelling through the town centre.

Suffolk Highways apologised for any disruption caused.
