A person has died after being hit by a train. 

Services at Brandon railway station have been cancelled as a result of the incident, Greater Anglia confirmed on Thursday morning.

Greater Anglia confirmed that it is unable to run services between Norwich and Cambridge, which includes Brandon station, while emergency services deal with a fatality. 

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line in Suton at 10.12am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Rail replacement buses are being arranged, Greater Anglia confirmed. 

A statement on Great Anglia's website reads: "The 10.33 Norwich to Stansted Airport will be reinstated.

"It will be started from Cambridge. It will no longer call at Norwich, Wymondham, Attleborough, Thetford, Brandon, Ely and Cambridge North. This is due to a person hit by a train."

Disruption is expected until at least 1pm.
