An appeal has been launched to find a wheelchair belonging to an Ipswich Town fan with terminal cancer after it went missing amid the promotion celebrations.

Terri Chandler is a season ticket holder at Portman Road, but requires the use of the chair to get to the ground due to her illness.

It was parked in its usual spot outside the Magnus Group west stand for Saturday's game with Exeter City, with Terri using it at half time.

But the 54-year-old and her brother Richard were shocked to see it was no longer there when they left the stadium after the players' lap of honour following the 6-0 win for the Blues, which secured promotion to the Championship.

The chair is described as blue and covered in Town stickers.

Richard, who is also Terri's carer, said finding the wheelchair missing was a "frustrating" end to an otherwise memorable day.

He added: "We've been season ticket holders for many years, but because of Terri's terminal cancer she needs this wheelchair for any kind of distance.

"We need a lightweight chair specifically so that it fits in her car.

"We parked at the bottom of the stairs, and after the lap of honour it just wasn't there."

The siblings, from Colchester, have been in touch with the club and have praised the Blues' staff for their efforts to track down the missing chair.

Richard also hailed Town's ownership trio of Brett Johnson, Berke Bakay and Mark Detmer, who have supported Terri since her diagnosis and chatted with her in the Fan Zone before the Exeter game.

He added: "Lee Smith, the disability liaison officer, has been fantastic – we have been given another wheelchair for Fleetwood on Sunday.

"The owners were also brilliant and made sure to have a conversation with us.

"We still had an amazing time on the day. The club have been fantastic with Terri."
