Felixstowe: New Chill Yard and committee to open Monday

The Chill Yard in Felixstowe is set to open on a parcel of land between the Greenhouse Cafe and Perfect Kebab House. 

The Chill Yard has been set up by 56-year-old security guard, Colin Hill.

He said: "I had walked past it enough times, and I thought it was time that something was made of that space." 

At The Chill Yard, there will be daily pop-up markets and fairs, an evening youth club, afternoon social events and morning community activities for those that are retired. 

Also on Monday, the Community Interest Organisation behind the project will be electing the first committee members.

The safest area of the yard will semi-open for the first time to the public, with the other being not yet ready to open at this moment in time.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm on Monday, May 8.
