The historic event of King Charles III's coronation is set to be marked by a flypast which will include the iconic Red Arrows.

The flypast will see more than 60 aircraft fly over Suffolk on their route to Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

The flypast will begin in the North Sea from 1.15pm and be visible along the Norfolk coast.

From there, it will head to Suffolk from two direction.

This will include towns such as Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Southwold, Stowmarket and more.

It will then pass over Colchester and Chelmsford before arriving in London.

Due to poor weather the flypast is at risk of being cancelled

Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Chief Marshal Sir Michael Wigston has said “it’s 50/50” as to whether the event will go ahead, and the final decision will be made just one or two hours before it is due to start.

What time will the flypast be over Suffolk?

The exact routes of the aircraft are not being published in advance for security reasons.

Although exact timings are kept under tight wraps for security purposes, these are the expected times.

  • Bury St Edmunds 1.45pm-3pm
  • Ipswich - 2pm-3pm
  • East Bergholt - 2pm - 3pm
