The co-owner of a Bury St Edmunds wine shop has achieved national recognition after being named in the 2023 Harpers 30 Under 30 list.

Jake Bennett-Day, 27, has been recognised as an up-and-coming talent in the UK bar and restaurant industries and has also been awarded the 2023 Commitment Champion accolade.

"I'm very flattered to have been selected by a judging panel of influential industry figures and inspired by the company in which I find myself on the list," said Mr Bennett-Day.

"Well done to all involved and thanks to Harpers for highlighting the emerging talent within our industry."

Mr Bennett-Day is the co-owner of Vino Gusto, a wine shop which opened its doors in Hatter Street in March last year.

Offering more than 500 wines, the two-storey Bury St Edmunds shop started as The One Bull Pub - a lockdown project from Roxane and David Marjoram.

Ms Marjoram said they were "super proud" to see Mr Bennett-Day's passion and drive recognised.

"He's the driving force behind the shop and this award is hugely well-deserved recognition," she added.
