Five consultation events to offer communities the chance to give feedback on proposals for the southern North Sea offshore wind farm, North Falls, are to get under way in Essex next month.

The events form part of the third stage of consultation for the wind farm project sited 20 kilometres off the East Anglian coast.

Starting in Great Bromley on Friday June 2, the events offer people the chance to find out more details on the project and have discussions with members of the North Falls team.

The project is a proposed extension to the existing 504-megawatt Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm, and comprises an offshore site of 150km2 in total and an onshore grid connection in Tendring. Underground cables would carry power from landfall near Frinton-on-Sea inland 24 kilometres to a new onshore substation.

The five events in Great Bromley, Tendring, Frinton-on-Sea, Thorpe-le-Soken and Ardleigh are a key part of the consultation, which is being held to gather feedback from communities and the wider public on the North Falls project proposals.
