An antiques business has launched a new 3,000sq ft store near Stowmarket as demand for striking and unusual home furnishings soars.

Aspal Antiques at Stonham Barns Park has taken on the new outlet to house some new and established antiques traders in the region.

Aspal Emporium Antiques Centre brings together around 20 traders under one roof.

Aspal Antiques recently featured in two TV antiques programmes when presenters Drew Pritchard and John Tee from Salvage Hunters and Mark Hill from the Antiques Road Trip visited the antiques hub.

The expanding 3,000sq ft business is owned by couples Henrietta Lewis and Alan Knight and Wendy and Alf Faulkner.

It includes a reclamations yard which has moved to a new site at the park.

Mr Knight said they hope to attract buyers keen on "objects of interest and beauty" - either as gifts or to enhance their homes, gardens and businesses.

"Antiques are taking on such a new importance as home and garden makeovers now favour far more bold and striking elements," he said.

"Everyone wants an interesting touch and a pop or two of colour. People are enjoying spending time searching out antique and vintage items as the current trend for repurposing grows ever more popular.

"The Antiques Emporium will bring something surprisingly new and refreshing to mid-Suffolk.

East Anglian Daily Times:

"Traders will be stocking quality made, quirky items that will span the antiques spectrum from trinkets to statement interior design pieces to large items of antique furniture."

They have launched the new outlet in reponse to requests from customers for a wider range of items, he said.

"While at Aspal Antiques we stock vintage lighting, furniture, militaria, collectables and Vinyl and a huge range of vintage and antique objects, we are also keen to offer the eclectic items that other traders deal in too," he explained.

"This gives our buyers the best possible range of antiques and collectables available in mid-Suffolk.

"Add to this the garden architectural items and you have everything you need to ‘top out’ any interior setting.

East Anglian Daily Times:

"We pride ourselves in sourcing interesting, quirky and unique items and this is an extension of the service we are already offering."

Aspal Antiques expanded after lockdown sparking a collecting revival. The owners have seen a rise in property renovations and continuing demand for architectural and feature pieces.

Aspal Antiques and Aspal Emporium Antiques centre are open from Tuesday to Sunday.
