A cow had to be rescued by firefighters after it got stuck in a pillbox. 

Fire crews were called to remoo-ve the animal from the pillbox in Brundon Lane in Sudbury at 3.45pm on Saturday. 

Specialist crews helped release the cow, who was lifted out by a crane.

A spokesman for Sudbury Fire Station said: "They were able to strap the cow up and help him safely fly out."

A stop time was called 5.11pm. 

Appliances from Sudbury, Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds attended.
