A woman has appeared in court accused of fraudulently obtaining more than £700,000 from a business in Haverhill.

Ciara Highfield, 32, of Holly Street, Lincoln, has been charged with three fraud matters, one count of theft and another of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property.

At Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich on Friday, June 9, Highfield did not enter a plea to the charges and the court declined jurisdiction, meaning the case will be heard at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, July 7.

She was granted unconditional bail.

Highfield is accused of fraud by abuse of position between October 2019 to April 2020 while she was the finance manager of Maze Rattan Ltd, gaining £34,708.

A second charge relates to the period spanning October 2019 to February 2022, where she is accused of gaining £680,637.17 from the same company.

Highfield has also been charged with concealing, disguising, converting, transfering or removing criminal property in Haverhill between October 2019 and February 2022.

The fourth charge is fraud by false representation, where she is accused of using a company fuel card to gain £7,048.07.

She was also charged with theft of £10,000 from Lakeside Furniture Direct in Doncaster.
