Bury St Edmunds: Rosie Chic Beauty Lounge shortlisted again

Amy Cornwell, who launched Rosie Chic Beauty Lounge in 2018 while working alongside her day job in health and social care, is shortlisted for The Nation's Hair & Beauty Awards 2023 in the nail artist category. 

Mrs Cornwell owns two salons in Beck Row and Brandon which she runs on her own while also taking care of her family.

She said: "Being shortlisted for the first time was very surprising and shocking for me, and this time I don’t even know what to say. 

"I'm just so appreciative of being able to be a finalist of this award again. I've really worked really hard on it the past 18 months."

Mrs Cornwell did not apply for this award and was likely nominated by her satisfied clients. 

The mum-of-one said that her aim in business is to make every appointment fun and relaxed, so that clients cannot wait to come back. 

The salon owner specialises in nail artwork that ranges from sophisticated animations, floral themes to realistic drawings.

She said: "I've recently done a few quite extravagant sets for drag queens. This art was definitely wild and very interesting to do. 

"My artwork was featured in mini competitions, which I’m also proud of." 

Rosie Chic Beauty Lounge also offers a range of brow, lash and micro-blading treatments. 

Mrs Cornwell does not employ any other beauticians and runs two salons on her own.

Her next goal is to open an academy next year and teach others the things she is passionate about. 

The owner added that she is excited to attend the Nation's Hair & Beauty Awards 2023 ceremony, which will take place on July 16 in Birmingham.
