A Sudbury bank has submitted plans for a move to a different premises within the town.

Suffolk Building Society submitted an application to Babergh District Council earlier this week for alterations to be made at 98 North Street ahead of a planned move from their current building at 10 Market Hill.

The proposals include changes to the internal layout, existing access arrangements and new signage to the building's facade.

A statement on behalf of Suffolk Building Society said the move is needed to meet the demands and needs of their customers.

The works proposed are all within the confines of the existing 77sqm building and no extensions are proposed.

External works include replacement of the existing doors with an automated door to allow for disable access as well as paint work to the shop front.

An application for new signage and a hanging sign for the front of the building has also been submitted.

The unit, which used to be occupied by Clinton Cards and Mountain Warehouse, is currently empty.
