Forty-three new homes in a village on the Shotley peninsula are to be discussed next week with the recommendation being that the plans are refused.
Babergh District Council's planning committee will come together next week to discuss a planning application for 43 homes to be built in Shotley near Ipswich, with 15 of those affordable.
The application would come with landscaping, highway access and open public space.
Should the application go through, the Suffolk County Council Developer Contribution Response stated that £181,000 would need to be paid for the primary school expansion, while £176,000 would be needed for the secondary school expansion.
The plans are being recommended for refusal, due to the development failing to demonstrate a need for market housing, according to a Babergh planning report.
There is also a fear of harm to heritage in the area, with there being a concern that the design, form and appearance would detract from the architectural and historic character of the Grade II listed building, Erwarton Hall.
The council will discuss the application on Wednesday, July 26.
