An award-winning Suffolk pub has been named one of the best country pubs in the UK.

The Unruly Pig in Bromeswell, near Woodbridge, is celebrating after being selected as one of the best country pubs in Britain by BBC Good Food. 

Writing in the guide, experts said: "The stylishly quirky interior mixes and matches Persian rugs, exposed brick, dark grey wall panelling and caramel leather button-back banquettes.

"The ‘Britalian’ menu is another work of fusion with dishes such as local Orford lobster tail, claw and crab ravioli with carrot and avruga caviar.

"On a sunny day, ask for a seat in the large garden with its parasol-shaded, decked seating area."

A spokesman for the pub said: "Our team are absolutely delighted to be featured in the recently published BBC Good Food 'Best Country Pubs in the UK'. A fantastic accolade."

It is the latest accolade the pub have scooped. 

The pub was named among top 100 restaurants in the country in the National Restaurant Awards in May. 

January saw the pub come second in the Estrella Damn's Top 50 Gastropubs guide for 2023.
