A 19-year-old arrested after £2,100 worth of cannabis was found in a Sudbury home has been given a suspended jail sentence for drug offences.

Bailey Clark, of Beatty Road, in Sudbury, was sentenced at Suffolk Magistrates Court on Friday, August 11, for possession with intent to supply cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

The Sudbury teenager had pleaded guilty and received a 26 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.

The sentence follows a drug warrant that took place at a property on Beatty Road in August last year.

A large quantity of herbal cannabis valued up to £2,100 was seized and Clark was arrested.

Sargent Olly Williams, who led the investigation, said: “This is a positive result of convicting a drug dealer who was supplying drugs in Sudbury.

"Drugs will not only have a detrimental effect on those that supply and use them but the wider communities.

"Our local communities have an important role to play, helping us target this criminality with intelligence and reporting suspicious activity.”

Anyone who suspects drug dealing is taking place should report it by calling 101, reporting it through Suffolk Constabulary's website or calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
