Some days all we want is a bit of quiet and some peace to help us unwind. 

Here are five peaceful places to visit in Suffolk.

1. Covehithe Beach

Covehithe is only accessible by foot or by bike which can make it feel like you are the only person around for miles. 

Those who seek it out can enjoy a peaceful walk through the changing wilderness. 

2. Shingle Street

Shingle Street is unlike other Suffolk beaches like Southwold or Felixstowe. 

There are few facilities here which makes it more quiet, and perfect for those wanting to escape noise.

Seals can often be spotted basking along the mile long stony beach.

3. Abbey Gardens

The award-winning 14-acre gardens are located at the Abbey of St Edumunds.

The gardens have won many Green Flag awards, and is a perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by.

4. RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve

The diverse landscapes of Minsmere make them ideal for a huge variety of wildlife.

You could see otters and water voles in the reedbeds, or find rare minibeasts like the great green bushcricket.

5. Christchurch Park

Christchurch Park opened in 1885 and was the first public park in Ipswich.

Located in the heart of the town, the gardens are great for a peaceful walk or head indoors at Christchurch mansion to view the art gallery.
