A 55-year-old Suffolk man who has admitted two offences of attempting to cause a schoolgirl to engage in sexual activity will be sentenced next month.

Chris Doyle, of Ladygate, Haverhill, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, September 4.

He admitted attempting to cause or incite a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity between November 28 and December 2, 2021, and a similar charge between July 21 and November 30, 2021.

He also admitted attempted sexual communication with a 13-year-old girl between November 28 and December 1, 2021.

Recorder Jeremy Benson adjourned sentence on Doyle, who has no previous convictions, until October 20 and ordered that a pre-sentence report should be prepared on him by the probation service.

He warned Doyle that the fact he was adjourning sentence for a pre-sentence report was no indication as to what the final sentence would be.

He ordered Doyle to sign the sex offender’s register and allowed his conditional bail to continue.
