A 42-year-old has been jailed after striking a man over the head with a frying pan and burning his fingers.

Jonathan Quinn was jailed for three years after pleading guilty to robbery and two counts of actual bodily harm at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday (September 4).

The court heard how Quinn struck his male 61-year-old victim on the head with a frying pan and asked for his phone and bank card on October 28 2022.

When Quinn fell asleep that evening, the victim fled to withdraw his bank balance and cancel the card.

The pair were known to each other and the attack took place in the victim's flat.

Investigating officer DC Rachel Adams said: “This was a nasty case where Quinn caused some serious injuries to the victim including a broken nose, burnt fingers and broken arm and a number of other visible facial injuries.

“Quinn is a prolific offender and who the victim had known for around three years and frequently made aggressive threats to the victim.”
