There were delays on the A14 in mid Suffolk are reports somebody was walking in the road.
Officers were called to the incident on the eastbound carriageway, near Woolpit, at about 1.15pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said officers had received reports of somebody walking in the road.
There was heavy traffic in the area, according to the AA Traffic Map.
