Fire crews were called to tackle a building blaze near Sudbury.
Engines from Long Melford, Clare, Sudbury and Colchester attended the scene of a bungalow fire in The Green in Stanstead at about 5.19am on Monday.
They used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, a jet and a hydrant to bring the fire under control, working at a height above the building using roof ladders.
The stop message was received at 7.35am but crews remain on the scene to carry out additional checks and watch for hotspots.
According to a Suffolk Fire spokeswoman, engineers from Anglian Water, UK Power Networks and the Environment Agency were called to attend.
