An inquest has heard that a man who died suddenly in February in Haverhill had suffered a brain injury after being assaulted in 2020.
Christopher Abbott was 44 when he was discovered at his home address in Haverhill.
The court heard that the police had visited his home on February 2, after receiving a welfare call from Mr Abbott’s fiancée.
She had raised the alarm as she was concerned that she had not been able to contact him or gain access to the property.
Suffolk Coroner's Court heard on Friday that upon entering the house, the police discovered Mr Abbott in his bedroom, fully clothed and lying “face down”.
The court heard that Mr Abbott had suffered seizures following an assault in 2020, when he sustained a brain injury.
The inquest is expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
