A Suffolk couple are set to open a new gourmet burger restaurant in Sudbury.

Andrew Kennedy and Bobby Gillam will launch their new venture, Kennedy's Smash Burger Bar, at The Stone Yard Pantry in Sudbury this month.

It will mark the beginning for a new chapter for Andrew, having previously worked in kitchens for the last few years.

He said: "I have about seven years of experience as a chef.

"I don't have much experience on the business side of things whereas my partner does. She has her own hair salon."

While Bobby has run her own salon for the last seven years, she will continue running it alongside the new business.

The pair will open their site at Stone Yard Pantry in Windham Road on Monday, November 20.

On offer will be a range of different burgers, which they will rotate on a monthly basis as part of being customer lead.

"Our menu is actually quite different to restaurants," added Andrew.

"We are going to have a suggestion box and voting. It is going to be six different burgers  that everyone can vote for.

"We plan on doing it monthly, depending on how busy we are."
