A tree in a Suffolk garden that is posing "danger to surrounding buildings" has been allowed to be reduced by a third.
An application has been made for works to a tree in a conservation area for a large tree in Long Melford, near Sudbury.
The silver birch tree is positioned in a courtyard garden on Hall Street.
The owners applied for permission to reduce the birch tree by one third as the tree is far too big for its courtyard position, causing risk to surrounding buildings.
A decision was made on the application on Thursday (November 2), with Babergh District Council giving notice that it does not wish to object to the works.
The works can now be carried out with the relevant notice of intent.
Long Melford Parish Council were approached for a consultee comment on the application and provided no objections to the plans.
