The owner of a new American-style chicken wing restaurant that is coming to a west Suffolk town is hoping to "create a buzz" on opening day, which was revealed this week.

Long-time friends Shaz Begg, 42, and Paul Stannard, 45, have joined forces to open Top G Wings in Mildenhall in the former En-thai-sing restaurant at 42 St Andrew's Street.

They started renovations in August and earlier this week they revealed their plan to officially open on November 28.

Mr Begg, who owns Gandhi in Mildenhall, which is one of the oldest Indian restaurants in East Anglia under the ownership of one family, said: "I am excited, it is another venture for me as it is my third restaurant.

"It is just the back and a few decoration bits that are left to do now. It is the small things that are the most time consuming things to do.

"It will be great when we are finished."

The process has taken around four months, which Mr Begg said is not too bad compared to his previous six-month renovations, but there was more work than expected as they realised there was a problem with the safety of the electrics.

Mildenhall Mayor Ian Shipp will cut the ribbon to the new premises on November 28.

"We've got 50% off so I am hoping that will create a buzz," said Mr Begg.

"I know everyone is excited - I have got friends that don't even live in the county that are going to come from places like London and Norwich on the day to support me, which is great.

"It is one of those really nice things - I think locally everyone has been waiting for something like this because it is something really different," he added.

Tog G Wings will open its doors on November 28 at 42 St Andrew's Street.
