A new dog walking field is soon to open in Suffolk following the approval of plans to cater for the rising number of dog owners.

Babergh District Council approved plans for a patch of grassland to be converted into the walking field in Shepherd's Rest Farm on Pond Hall Road in Hadleigh, near Ipswich.

The application grant would mean there is another dog exercise field in Suffolk following the rise of dog owners in the county since the Covid pandemic.

The field will be able to hold up to eight dogs at a time, and will be fitted with a 2-metre high fence as well as parking spaces.

Owners will be available to book on a 25-minute or 55-minute basis, with the site being available from "dawn to dusk"

Bins for dog waste will be provided, with regular visits to empty the bins being made by operators.

Drinking water will also be provided for dogs.

An open date for the field is yet to be revealed.
