With Christmas just around the corner, there are many events taking place across the county that won't break the bank. 

Here are five cheap family Christmas events taking place in Suffolk in 2023.

1. Ice Rink

Where: arc shopping centre, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3DG

When: Between December 14 and January 4

Cost: Free

The synthetic ice rink will be provided by Odin Events and gives users the closest experience to the real thing.

The rink won't be open on Christmas Day and timings can be found on Our Bury St Edmunds website

2. A CapCon Christmas

Where: Trinity Park, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, IP3 8HU

When: November 18 and 19

Cost: £5 per person

Meet some of your favourite Christmas characters including Santa, Mrs Claus, Buddy the Elf, and the Grinch. 

Dressing up is encouraged and the best dressed will receive a prize during the event. 

3. Christmas and Landguard Fort

Where: Landguard Point, Viewpoint Road, Felixstowe, IP11 3TW

When: December 9 and 10

Cost: £8.50 for children and £5.50 for adults in advance

Explore festive-themed rooms and displays on a special trail before meeting Father Christmas for a present. 

The event is suitable for children aged between 2 and 12 years old. 

4. Christmas Celebration 

Where: East Point Pavilion, Royal Plain, Lowestoft, NR33 0AP

When: December 15

Cost: Free

With free children's activities, the Christmas Celebration is a night for the whole family to enjoy. 

There will be live festive music from local talent, artisan gift stalls, and cosy food. 

5. Where's Santa's Hat?

Where: arc shopping centre, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3DG

When: November 17 to December 24

Cost: £4 on Fridays

Theatre Royal's Christmas Cabin is back and Santa has lost his hat and can't deliver his presents without the help of Älva, a mouse and the children in the audience. 

The interactive festive performance is ideal for children aged between 2 and 7.
