The third and final 228-tonne abnormal load made the journey through Suffolk, leading to the closure of the A140 today.

Suffolk Highways have been transporting the load from Ipswich Docks since 5.30am.

It took over four hours to clear the town and reach the A14, which had a rolling roadblock in place to help with traffic flow.

A decision was made to continue the load's journey to Eye Airfield.

The A140 was closed from the Needham Market A14 exit to the turn-off for Eye Airfield.

A temporary over-bridge was installed in Brockford to help the load along and to protect the road surface.

The A140 is now clear and traffic can move freely.
