An east Suffolk pub that was badly damaged by flooding caused by Storm Babet in October has shared updates on the repair work.

The Railway Inn in Station Road in Framlingham has been closed since the storm battered the county last month.

In the aftermath of Storm Babet, landlady Laura Robinson faced the prospect of being unable to open her business again until potentially the New Year.

She was only covered by business insurance as the building was not in a flood zone, which meant she would not receive a pay-out for damage caused to the building.

Mrs Robinson praised the support she had received from the community, including families who had arrived out of the blue to help with clearing up after the flooding.

She said: "Everyone has been really amazing. They have just been helping to support and everything."

A JustGiving appeal was launched at the end of October to raise £10,000 to replace destroyed appliances.

Mrs Robinson has shared photos on social media updating on the repair work, one month on from Storm Babet.

"What a difference a month makes, we have been very busy getting a lot done," she said.

Despite all the construction work the Railway Inn is preparing for Christmas and has set up a special letterbox for children to post their lists to Father Christmas.

It is still unknown when the pub will reopen.
