A large police presence was spotted in a west Suffolk town this afternoon.

A spokesperson for Suffolk police said officers were called to a convenience shop just before 2pm on Tuesday.

The spokesman said officers receieved reports that a man was making threats to staff.

Officers attended an address in Boby Road in Bury St Edmunds and detained a man.

The incident comes after police said they were attending a "serious incident" in nearby Newmarket on Tuesday.
