We really are lucky to have so many outstanding villages and towns in Suffolk, but here is a guide to one of the prettiest in the county.

Kersey is home to a few hundred people – but it is very popular and well worth a visit.

Here is our guide to the village.

Pretty streets

Kersey is home to one of the most recognisable roads in the county.

The Street, which is famous for its ford, is a spectacular sight and really does stop people in their tracks when they see it.

The iconic Kersey Splash is a dip in the road with water, which shouldn't be that impressive but combined with the reflective surface it means you get one of the most beautiful snapshots of Suffolk.

Although many of the homes have traditional tiled roofs you may be able to find one or two thatched cottages nestled in the village.

The village has also recently featured in the Magpie Murders television series, with filming taking place in 2021.

Great pub

Located in the small picturesque village is the Kersey Bell Inn, which was taken over by new owners earlier this year

The pub serves a range of drinks including craft ales and cocktails, as well an impressive food menu including roast dinners on a Sunday.

Historic buildings

If it wasn't for all the cars parked along the roadside you really would think you slipped back 200 years.

The village has a real historic feel to it with many medieval buildings left untouched.

The 12th century church is a real stand out in the village and the impressive building is worth a visit.

Lovely walks

There are plenty of lovely walks in and around Kersey.

Not only can you stroll around the village but after enjoying a bite to eat or a drink at The Bell you can explore the surrounding countryside.

There are two routed walks around the village one being the Copse and Tye Route which takes around two hours and the Kersey Upland Route which takes around three hours.

The Kersey Mill

The Kersey Mill is home to a number of independent shops and businesses that attract people from surrounding towns and villages.

Inside the complex you will find craft shops, flower shops, barbers, charity shops and a café.

There is also a unique wedding venue in the grounds.
