Nearly 3,500 homes in a west Suffolk town were left without power last night after a cable fault.
In total, 3,413 homes in the Haverhill area were affected by a power cut just before 6pm, caused by a fault on a high voltage cable.
Power was restored just after 7pm after local power networks were re-routed.
In an earlier, unrelated incident customers in the CB9 postcode area lost power between 2.17pm and 1.24am due to an overhead line fault.
A spokeswoman for UK Power Networks said: "We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused."
