A driver has been left angered after he was forced to abandon his car on Christmas Eve after hitting a pothole in a Suffolk village.
Morgan Waldock was driving along the A1092 in Cavendish on Sunday when he hit the defect in the road, which he said caused one of his tyres to burst.
The 19-year-old, from Sudbury, had to leave his car in the village as the tyre was unable to be pumped back up.
Mr Waldock said: "It was disastrous and not what I needed at all on Christmas Eve.
"The pothole was massive and I had no choice but to drive through it.
"What is even more annoying is that I had to spend £152 to repair my car because of the damaged caused by the pothole, which is not what I need during an already difficult time."
On Christmas Day, an emergency road closure was put in place along the A1092 as a result of the potholes and some minor flooding.
A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said: "We are attending site now to carry out a temporary fix to get the road reopen tonight. A permanent repair will follow."
