Fire crews had to pump water from a property in Suffolk after torrential rain hit parts of the county.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 8.45am today to an incident of flooding in a home in Melford Road in Lavenham.

The flood water was affecting the electrics in the property, which the crew had to make safe before tackling the flooding.

The Met Office issued an amber warning for wind earlier today.

One fire crew from Long Melford attended the scene and pumped out water from the home into a nearby ditch.

It took around an hour to make the scene safe for the homeowners, with the stop time issued at around 9.45am.
