Drivers are being warned on social media to avoid part of the A12 as the flood water continues to rise across the road.
The A12 through Yoxford is nearly impassable this afternoon (Tuesday, January 2) after torrential rain has fallen during Storm Henk.
This morning the road just outside of the village had an emergency closure in place while flood water was removed by crews.
The Environment Agency has issued several flood alerts around the county as the effects of the storm continue to wreak havoc.
As of around 3.30pm today the road was so deep that drivers had stopped attempting to pass through the water and started looking for alternative routes.
Not only have roads flooded around Suffolk today, but homes too, with the fire and rescue service called to several properties to pump water out.
An amber weather warning for wind that was issued by the Met Office is in place until around 8pm tonight.
Suffolk Highways have been called to a number of flooded roads throughout the day and are posting updates on X (formerly Twitter).
