A Suffolk couple have spoken of the 'absolutely surreal' moment they won a life-changing £1m on one of ITV's most popular game shows.

Helen and Charlie, 49 and 47, appeared on Ant and Dec's Limitless Win on Saturday, January 13, and walked away with the show's biggest jackpot yet.

The duo, who work as an NHS communications director and an NHS finance manager, said they were inspired to join the show after calling out all the answers while watching at home.

After winning £1m on the show, the pair said: "It is taking some time to get used to and still feels absolutely surreal.

"We both feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to be on the show, and then even luckier that we got the right question at the right time and that we have walked away with the money.

"If we can do it then I'm sure others will be able to win even more in the future."

They answered correctly to the question "2024 marks how many years since Blur beat Oasis to the UK number one spot with the song Country House?"

He said: "The only time we realised the scale of it was when we locked in the answer and the whole audience gasped.

"But although I knew the answer, the only reason we were able to walk away with the money is because Helen 100% trusted me to lock the answer in- that level of trust means more to me than the money ever will."

Helen's parents were the first to find out and the couple said 'their jaws dropped' when they told them how much they had won.

"They have been so supportive to us, as have all our friends and family, so it was lovely to have had that moment with them," they said.

The couple said they are going to pay off their mortgage and travel to New Zealand for Helen's birthday to visit a close friend, as well as get a new car.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us so we will use the majority of it to set us and our children up for the future," they added.

Presenter Ant McPartlin said the atmosphere in the studio was as electric as other iconic TV moments including the Will and Gareth Pop Idol final, Susan Boyle and Diversity on BGT.

Ant & Dec's Limitless Win continues Saturday 20th January, on ITV1 and ITVX.
