A 25-year-old prison inmate has been arrested after going on the run for seven months.
Morgan Smyth was reported missing from Hollesley Bay prison near Woodbridge on May 11, 2023.
Smyth was serving a three-year sentence for possession of a knife, blade or sharp pointed article, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, threatening a person with a blade/ sharply pointed article in a public place and harassment.
An urgent appeal was launched after he absconded from the prison.
There was believed sightings of Smyth in Spalding in Lincolnshire in July.
However, a spokesman for Suffolk police confirmed he was arrested on Tuesday in Cambridgeshire and he has been taken into police custody.
